Richardson, Texas — Engineering News-Record (ENR), one of the construction industry’s most authoritative publications, recently named the University of Texas at Dallas Sciences Building as their “Best Higher Education / Research” award winner. UTD’s new Science Building is a 186,000 square-foot facility housing the Department of Physics and the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. The new building includes classrooms, offices, teaching and research laboratories, and features 150-seat and 300-seat lecture halls and an open courtyard with green space and seating areas.
Dynamic Systems, Inc. (DSI) scope of work entailed HVAC Piping, HVAC Sheetmetal, Plumbing and Process Gasses. Some of the unique aspects and challenges of this project:
- Utility plant expansion to support new campus load
- Congested utility corridors necessary to support lab spaces
- Installation of an optics lab with extremely stringent temperature and humidity requirements
“We were honored to be part of the team with the Linbeck Group. We’ve been fortunate to work with them on several high-quality projects,” commented Kevin Oeding, DSI’s Dallas Operations Manager.
